2022 Annual Impact Report

2022 was a year that saw many changes. As the world emerged from the pandemic, we felt a renewed sense of gratitude for the leadership that allowed us to address the immediate needs while simultaneously planning for AtlantiCare’s future. Our Mainland Campus Expansion Project began, taking lessons from COVID for facility design. This capital project positions AtlantiCare to take care of our community for years to come. We are grateful for our AtlantiCare team that continues to care for patients, for our community, and for each other. As our Hospital Week Tribute project illustrates, it takes each of us working together to create relationships, facilitate healing, and build healthy communities. On behalf of the AtlantiCare Foundation and the Board of Trustees, we offer our sincere gratitude to Lori Herndon for her leadership as CEO. She has provided vision and guidance as we embarked on our projects, many of which are described here, that have positioned AtlantiCare for success. Lori, each and everyday, you enabled us to make a difference. And lastly, we thank you – it is your generosity that has allowed us to forge our path well into the future. The tremendous support for our Medical Arts Pavilion has brought us into being a facility that is already changing care in Atlantic City. Our Safe Beginnings program meets patients where they are – often at home – to expand access to pre- and post-natal care. It, along with the many other services and programs offered at the pavilion, is actively changing the lives of individuals in our region. As we prepare to celebrate the 125 th anniversary of AtlantiCare’s humble beginnings on Ohio Avenue later this year, we are reminded of the fundamental principle of caring. Even as the faces of AtlantiCare change, and as we chart new paths to better meet the needs of those we have yet to meet – caring for our community, one person at a time, is at the heart of all we do.
