As we reflect on our many accomplishments of Fiscal Year 2018 and embark on a new three-year strategic plan, we celebrate the great milestones we have met to broaden our reach and better serve our community. We have advanced our work in each of the 5Bs and continue to be guided by our core values of Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Service, while infusing kindness in every interaction. Our staff members are proud to share with you the achievements outlined in this booklet and hope you take the opportunity to review these accolades and successes. • ARMC achieved its fourth consecutive nursing Magnet designation through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). • ARMC achieved Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) five-star rating. • Launched a comprehensive program titled“Healing Atlantic County” to combat opioid addiction and aimed at reducing the number of deaths due to overdose across the county. • Fully deployed Cerner IView house-wide to streamline nursing documentation and launch suicide prevention pathway documentation. • Fully deployed the Cerner Electronic Health Record to the following areas: Perioperative, Anesthesia, Pre-admission Testing/Same Day Surgery/Pre-Operative, and Intra-Operative/Post Anesthesia Care Unit. • Successfully completed the following surveys: – ARMC– Joint Commission Triennial (July 2017) – Ocean County Surgery Center – New Jersey Department of Health/ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) (October 2017) – HomeCare – New Jersey Department of Health/ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) (January 2018) – Hospice – Joint Commission Triennial (July 2017) – ARMC – College of American Pathologists (March 2018) – ARMC Blood Bank – New Jersey Department of Health Survey (August 2017) – Addiction Programs – New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (July 2017) – ARMC Internal Medicine Residency – Institutional Review Committee (IRC) from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has given a “Continued Accreditation”with commendation for substantial compliance with its standards and no citations. (January 2018) • ARMC reduced sepsis mortality from 24.42 percent to 10.50 percent. • Exceeded targeted overall readmission rates and remained below target observed/expected rate. • ARMC was recognized among the top five hospitals in New Jersey and the No. 1 hospital in southern New Jersey by U.S. News andWorld Report. • Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) was awarded with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Center Quality Leader Seal. • ARMC was recognized among America’s 100 Best Hospitals by HealthGrades® for cardiac care, joint replacement, spine surgery, and orthopedic care. • ARMC was recognized among America’s 50 Best Hospitals by HealthGrades® for cardiac surgery in 2018. • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) received the Beacon Award for Excellence® (Gold Status) from the American Nurses Association. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) Primary Care received a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) award for excellence in diabetes care. • ARMC improved Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Value-Based Purchasing Programmetrics (clinical care outcomes and patient experience), avoiding a $2.6 million penalty while receiving a $240,000 reward. • ARMC improved Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital-Acquired Harm Reduction Programmetrics, avoiding a $1.3 million penalty. • HomeCare outperformed national rankings in all categories for the inaugural launch of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospice Compare website. • ARMC achieved 0 percent reductions on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) pay for performance in dialysis for 2018. • ARMC Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP) received $8.3 million, which includes a $1.7 million reward.

• Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) received an incentive payment of $125,000 from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for improved patient health outcomes. • ARMC has earned the Joint Commission Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers. • ARMC City Campus achieved Comprehensive Stroke Designation by The Brain Coalition. • ARMC earned the HealthGrades® 2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. • ARMC was HealthGrades five-star recipient for coronary interventional procedures, coronary bypass surgery, treatment of heart attack, treatment of heart failure, and pacemaker procedures. • ARMC was recognized by Orthopedics This Week as a top hospital for hips and knee replacement surgery. • HomeCare achieved national honors from ABILITY Homecare Elite® as a top 500 Home Health program. • Implemented the Cerner Capacity Management solution to support patient flow initiatives at ARMC. • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) pilot began working with Medicaid and Managed Medicaid patients in the City Emergency Department to address social determinants and physician follow-up. • ARMC expanded the implementation of the suicide prevention protocol in Inpatient, Emergency Departments, Behavioral Health, and Primary Care as of January 2018. • Emergency Departments implemented the use of nitrous oxide to improve patient comfort during painful procedures (reduction of opioid use). • Implemented the ProvenCare® Hip Fragility evidence-based care model. • ARMC Cancer Center Institute partnered with Geisinger in the Encore program and National Cancer Institute (NCI) research program. • ARMC enrolled in clinical research projects: APEX MERCURY PE, MARINER, QUANTUM AFIB, HEART FID, and Drip and Ship. • ARMC successfully launched the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT). • ARMC achieved five years of uninterrupted BOOST (Better Outcomes by Optimizing Safe Transitions) rounds. • AtlantiCare achieved a 92 percent employee flu vaccination rate. • ARMC outperformed Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) achievement threshold for C. diff (Clostridium difficile) infections four consecutive quarters. • A 32 percent reduction of serious occurrences was observed 2018 compared to 2017. • Neurosciences decreased door-to-skin puncture time from >260 minutes in Q3 2016 to 103 minutes in Q1 2018 through planning, education, and implementation of a defined protocol. • ARMC achieved 4.5-star rating for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) HomeCare compare. • ARMC launched the Sustainability Team Initiative. • AtlantiCare launched a daily leadership patient safety huddle call and increased Energy Star Score rating by 10 percent.

• AtlantiCare Behavioral Health (ABH) participated in the Zero Suicide Technical Assistance program. • AtlantiCare Behavioral Health (ABH) exceeded its 30-day readmission rate goal on 1 Pines.

• Pediatrics successfully reduced computerized tomography (CT) scanning rates from 16percent to 10.4 percent. • ARMC Laboratory collaborated with Geisinger Laboratory to redesign quality metrics and improve quality monitoring. • Clinical Lab Mobile Phlebotomy initiated Electronic Schedule Manager (ESM). • The Mammography departments at the Mainland and City Campuses were found to be 100 percent compliant during their annual U.S. Food and Drug Administration-Mammography Quality Standards Act inspection.

• Radiology CT scan (Computerized Tomography) successfully implemented the National Dose Index Registry, which tracks patient radiation doses for CT procedures. • Emergency Medical Services and Neuroscience Program launched a home visit pilot for stroke patients to prevent readmissions. • City Emergency Department and Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) collaborated for a process of direct bedding for critical care patients. • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is the only Advanced Life Support program in the state to utilize ventilators for pre-hospital use care. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) successfully completed year one of both CPC+ (Comprehensive Primary Care Plus) and merit- based incentive payment system (MIPS). • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) implemented the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Coordinator program to support Medicare annual wellness visits. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG achieved 75 percent target for big dot access goal for primary care and specialty care visits within seven days. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) achieved Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) certification at its 13 Urgent Care Centers. • The Special Care Center (SCC) hosted visitors from Singapore’s largest hospital system to share successful methods of value-based purchasing services in an ambulatory setting. • ARMC achieved Elite status from the American College of Physicians for the internal medicine program. • ARMC launched a web-based educational program in collaboration with the American Medical Association which targets physician performance and quality work. • Oncology continued its participation in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center’s Oncology Care Model (OCM), which focuses on care coordination, appropriateness and access for Medicare beneficiaries receiving chemotherapy. • Neurosciences redesigned Acute Stroke Protocol in December 2017, extending the window for treatment of acute ischemic stroke to 16 to 24 hours. • TheWound Healing Centers were awarded the Center of Distinction and Robert A. Warriner Center of Excellence Awards for excellence in key performance indicators. • The Bariatric program continues to maintain the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). • ARMC developed an anticoagulation protocol to safely hold, bridge, and re-start anticoagulation for patients needing interventional radiology (IR) procedures. • ARMC Mainland relocated its transesophagael echocardiograph (TEE) into the cardiac unit for better patient outcomes and more reliable communication. • The Pharmacy department created and operationalized a Pharmacy Drug Shortage Team, a drug shortage policy, held drug shortage biweekly huddles, and distributed medication alert website notices, resulting in successfully maintaining primary or alternative medication options during many challenging national shortages. • ARMC achieved the Leapfrog benchmark target of 95 percent for bar coded medication administration (BMCA). • The Pharmacy department led the organization’s 2017 Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) focused on opioid and CDS medications risk points. • City Campus Critical Care collaborated with Gift of Life for 19 organ and 17 tissue donors.

• The Emergency Department at City Campus partnered with the Opioid Overdose Recovery Program to provide bridge to rehab for overdose patients (state grant funded). • 1 Pines achieved 0 percent restraint prevalence rate and 0 percent assaults with injury. • Nursing maintained zero ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) rate in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) at the Mainland Campus. • Center for Childbirth increased exclusive-breastfeeding-at-discharge rate to 48 percent and continues to increase the number of moms exclusively breastfeeding. • Center for Childbirth achieved NTSV (nulliparous women with a term singleton baby in vertex position delivered by C-section) rates at or below 25 percent. • Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) launched a perinatal medication assisted treatment (MAT) maintenance program for opioid- dependent mothers. • Mainland Intensive Care Unit (ICU) remained Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) free throughout 2017. • Hammonton Satellite Emergency Department ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and Door to Electrocardiogram (EKG) was 100 percent compliant for 2017. • Case Management improved transitions of care by aligning Inpatient Case Management and Ambulatory Care Management teams under one Care Management umbrella. • 90 percent of Ambulatory care managers were trained as advanced care planning facilitators to support the AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) practices. • Palliative Care collaborated with Health Engagement to integrate advance care planning education as a credit option for Engaged and Geisinger Health Plan members. • ARMC launched Comfort Measures Only (CMO)/General Inpatient Palliative Care Hospice (GIP) units on 5 Harmony (City Campus) and 1 Meadow (Mainland Campus). • Implemented Telesitter patient video monitoring to improve patient safety and reduce the costs related to patient companions. • Upgraded the UniPOC devices that enable anti-coagulation devices to upload results automatically into Cerner. • Implemented LabCorp and Cerner Lab orders and results interface. • Deployed e-Path Live, the medical oncology tool used to for state reporting. • Upgraded the Spacelabs central cardiac monitoring system software to the latest version as part of the alarm safety initiative. • Created and introduced new logos across the system, more prominently integrating Geisinger logo and incorporating“Caring”blue. • Launched pop-up Facebook live interviews on trending topics. • Collaborated with service lines to share patient testimonials through Facebook videos.

• Earned a larger millennial audience through use of Instagram, Snapchat, and targeted hashtags. • Elevated the AtlantiCare brand through the production of 130 video spots as of April 2018/FY18.

• Received Healthcare Advertising awards for “History of Caring”book (Silver Award) and Brand Direct Mailer (Merit Award). • The Egg Harbor Township and HammontonWound Healing Centers exceeded goals for day to heal, outlier rates, median days to heal, and patient satisfaction results.

Best Customer Experience

• Launched the Ambulatory Transformation Project allowing for integrated medical records. • Implemented the Certify biometrics and self-registration system at three sites. • Cape May Court House Surgery Center achieved Apex Award for Customer Experience the fourth year in a row. • ARMC received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award in neonatology. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) achieved ZocDoc provider rating average of 4.8 out of 5 with an overall net promoter score of 71. • 55 percent of AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) appointments booked through ZocDoc are new patients. • Oncology exceeded customer experience scores for the cancer program. • Nursing increased availability of lactation nurses to seven days a week for inpatient and outpatient support. • Emergency Departments exceeded target Customer Experience scores. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) implemented phase two of the ZocDoc bookable directory to replace “Find a Doc.” • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) Primary Care launched and completed 34 Family Advisory Committee meetings with patients, family members, and staff. • Oncology enhanced its Gilda’s Club collaboration through new programming at the Egg Harbor Township Life Center and point- of-care availability in the waiting areas and common areas of the AtlantiCare Cancer Center Institute. • Pharmacy service line implemented new technology (Fill Master & FlavoRx system) for pediatric patients visiting the Manahawkin Pharmacy. • Pharmacy service line installed a Parata automated dispensing system at Galloway Pharmacy to increase efficiency and drive customer service. • Pharmacy service line hosted a community event in the Manahawkin Health Park centered around our Manahawkin pharmacy titled“KnowYour Medications, KnowYour Pharmacist” to introduce our newest pharmacy and services to the community. • 5 Harmony received the Platinum Award and 6 Harmony received the Gold Award in the Customer Experience Kindness Matters challenge. • Nursing deployed Triad rounding on all medical surgical units at both campuses to improve customer experience and patient flow. • Nursing collaborated with Cath Lab, instituting a process to estimate times for cardiac catheterizations to improve communication and transparency with patients. • Expanded iPad distributions for translation services to outpatient services with over 150 iPads throughout the system. • Launched a new situation, background, assessment, and recommendation (SBAR) for the investigation of patient concerns to ensure a timely closure of all complaints and grievances, meeting Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Joint Commission standards. • Implemented ePrescribing of controlled substances at AtlantiCare Behavioral Health. • Marketing and Communications launched a pilot for listings/reputation management to ensure location information accuracy and facilitate social media listening. • AtlantiCare Behavioral Health (ABH) and Hammonton Satellite Emergency Department exceeded overall satisfaction top box goals on Press Ganey surveys. • Recognized 60 Customer Experience award winners at the October 2017 Customer Service Celebration. • Egg Harbor Township Surgery Center exceeded target for “Overall Confidence in Care”– 96.8 percent. • Cape May Court House Surgery Center exceeded target for “Overall Confidence in Care”– 98.1 percent. • Ocean County Surgery Center exceeded target for “Overall Confidence in Care”– 98.1 percent.

Best Financial Performance

• AtlantiCare Health System will exceed its budgeted operating margin for fiscal year 2018. • Finance implemented the Capital Budgeting and Capital Tracking module. • ARMC Revenue Cycle Team, in conjunction with Geisinger colleagues, was the winner of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) MAP Award for high performance in revenue cycle. • Human Resources implemented new benefits administration partners (45 percent savings, or approximately $216,000 per year). • Successfully launched and conducted a $1.6 million fundraising campaign organized around the AtlantiCare Foundation’s 40th anniversary to support our Cancer Care Institute, Behavioral Health, Healing Arts, and the establishment of a Healthy Communities Fund. • Successfully negotiated the following value-based contracts: – OMNIA - $1 million in shared savings – Medicaid - $130,000 in shared savings – Bundled payments - $5.1 million in shared savings FY 2018; nearly $8 million since June 2018 • Internal medicine hospitalists reduced costs by nearly $600,000 on targeted medicine diagnosis related groups (DRGs) through the Clinical Effectiveness Committee initiatives. • Pharmacy service line generated over $500,000 in drug cost savings. • AtlantiCare successfully reported Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) results for AtlantiCare Physician Group, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, AtlantiCare Behavioral Health, and Urgent Care Centers with positive revenue adjustment for all entities and additional performance bonus for APG. • Surgery Center continues to exceed national benchmarks for days in accounts receivable (36). • Upgraded Kaufman Hall Financial Reporting and Budgeting System to new platform (Axiom). • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) operating income is $5.9 million favorable to budget through May 31, 2018. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG)APG net investment per provider is 19 percent favorable to budget ($76,731 compared to $94,710). • ARMC completed Anesthesia Medication Management Project in July 2017, reducing drug expenses by more than $48,000. • Implemented and deployed a new Decision Support System (Performance Manager) and Visualization Tool (Explorer) with over 20 users trained to date. • Finance secured over $5 million of additional funding through successful settlements of governmental cost reports. • Finance secured over $2.5 million of at-risk revenue from one of our largest payers by successfully defending utilization review practices regarding their cases. • AtlantiCare achieved status of the only Tier 1 provider with both Horizon and AmeriHealth in Atlantic County. • Oncology enhanced access to pharmaceutical drug financial support programs and billing support for our patients and achieved a 30 percent reduction in bad debt for medical oncology. • Pharmacy service line collaborated with Geisinger Health System Enterprise Pharmacy contracting for our wholesaler agreement with Cardinal Health, as well as several drug contracts. • ARMC decreased intravenous acetaminophen cost and utilization by nearly 50 percent.

• Maximized 340-B Program to achieve a savings of over $13.3 million (inpatient and outpatient). • ARMC developed and implemented an Orbactiv protocol for the treatment of cellulitis in order to facilitate hospital discharges, reduce length of stay, and prevent hospital admissions. • Clinical Effectiveness Steering Committee recognized seven (Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) teams that reduced length-of-stay by 1.68 days compared to baseline. • Process Management Office worked with Nursing to standardized floor stocks across campuses, yielding $188,000 in savings. • Process Management Office led the implementation of Obstetrics Labor and Delivery Triage with $500,000 in new facility revenue during the first six months. • Process Management Office and Finance implemented a multi-year, system-wide benchmarking initiative with IBM/Truven ActionOI, in conjunction with Geisinger Health System. • Pharmacy service line and Cardiac Cath Lab reduced Lab drug spend in excess of $150,000. • Expanded our professional billing/coding audit processes, creating a sustainable process that has resulted in more consistent audit results, increased provider reviews, and enhanced provider education. • Secured more than $550,000 in new grant acquisitions to fund programming to support pediatric asthma and pre-diabetes assessments at the HealthPlex, and the integration of behavioral health into primary care at the Specialized Care Center. • Marketing and Communications continued standardization of costs and setup of print collateral, achieving greater cost reduction and stability, as well as reducing estimate wait times and staff time/communication. • Executed new shared savings contract with AmeriHealth. • Successfully completed first year of CPC+ program for Primary Care Plus sites.

• AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) onboarded 76 new providers, including 56 new physicians and 20 allied health providers. • Five exemplars identified by Magnet appraiser during April site visit: Diversity and Inclusion, Pantry at the HealthPlex,

Neurosciences/Stroke, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Inpatient Behavioral Health. • Achieved Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) Leader designation for the seventh consecutive year. • ARMC initiated lab apprenticeship program for local residents. • Launched Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Hybrid Program with Mercer County. • Launched two new Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Recovery and Fitness &Well-being.

• Successfully eliminated sugar-sweetened beverages system-wide through “A Sip in the Right Direction” campaign. • 247 providers participated in the Press Ganey Provider Survey with engagement and alignment scores above national and regional averages. • AtlantiCare became a Recovery Court Employer to provide an alternative track for individuals with substance abuse disorders. • ARMC maintained greater than 90 percent first-time pass rate on American Board of Internal Medicine certification examination. • ARMC redesigned and optimized the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) processes. • Adult hospitalists operationalized new perioperative and behavioral medicine lead physician roles. • Center for Childbirth achieved the Baby Friendly Initiative President’s Award. • Pharmacy department received the AtlantiCare Team Award for Best Finance (Pharmacist Procalcitonin Protocol) and Best Growth (Medication Therapy Disease Management Clinic). • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) began a preceptor program for ambulatory nursing and medical assistants. • AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) launched the ATP Engagement Committee to support staff through the Cerner implementation on June 1, 2018. • AtlantiCare appointed the following medical directors: Dr. Chugh, Medical Director, Urgent Care; Dr. Jaloudi, Medical Director, Oncology; and Dr. Timms, Medical Director, Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). • Oncology/Clinical Services launched the oncology nurse navigator call line to assist providers with care coordination. • 12 registered nurses fromMaternal Child Health have completed their certification for National Breastfeeding Counselor. • Process Management Office, in conjunction with Rutgers University, mentored nine new Lean Six Sigma Green Belts and one new Black Belt training. In addition, one Black Belt received certification. Overall, 25 new Lean & Six Sigma projects are underway or completed. • Pharmacy presented 13 posters at the Annual American Society Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) national convention, showcasing 34 clinicians. Six posters were accepted and presented at the Annual New Jersey Society Hill System Pharmacists (NJSHP), with one poster accepted as a finalist. • Initiated video format of Monthly Messenger to complement the print format. • Upgraded and remote-hosted the staff scheduling system, Clairvia. • Reached final stages of development for components of the Transformation of the Workforce strategic initiative: formal mentoring program, high-potential employee program, fast track serving leadership roll-out, and normalizing work from home. • Launched Facebook live Physician Chats and Staff Saturday video series with great engagement success. • Pharmacy successfully completed the pharmacy residency recruitment process, matching three residents. • Pharmacy department achieved >75 percent of technician staff nationally certified.

• Exceeded goals to reduce OSHA recordable employee injuries for both System and ARMC for the past nine years. • Restructured Home Health and Hospice program, allowing for the modernization of the clinical care delivery model utilizing point-of-delivery (POD) systemmanagement methodologies. • The 5 Harmony Unit at City Campus achieved re-designation in Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE). • Existing 4 Wellness (City Campus) nurses completed the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) certification. • The City Camus 4 Wellness care model was accepted for a presentation at the Magnet Conference and Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey (ONLNJ). • Center for Childbirth Local Improvement Team (LIT) developed and completed its first project to improve quality and safety for shoulder dystocia. • Emergency Department managers completed training for critical incident debriefing. • Emergency Department clinical managers mentored Pathways in Leadership project and Rutgers nursing students. • Emergency Department nurses, technicians, and providers developed the Lean Six Sigma Project to improve patient flow through the Emergency Department by direct bedding model and streamlining processes incorporating dual rapid evaluation units. • Lean and Six Sigma Transformation continued to focus on improvement and efficiency work, with 100 new employees trained, including 70 staff and 20 leaders receiving focusedWhite Belt Lean training. • Professional Practice and Development developed and implemented simulation and hands-on training for newly hired registered nurses. More than 100 registered nurses participated in a simulation with mock Code Blue and Code Stroke. • Professional Practice and Development researched, revised and implemented comprehensive Patient Care Associate (PCA) orientation, with 125 PCAs and companions oriented. • Professional Practice and Development partnered with Rutgers University to form first cohort of five registered nurses in the Clinical Nurse Leader Master’s Degree in Nursing Program. • Professional Practice and Development provided mentoring and professional development for six Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) student projects. • Professional Practice and Development developed and implemented evidence-based nurse residency program. Sixty-four new nurses have enrolled in the program and 44 have graduated. • Professional Practice and Development created and held five Ambulatory Nursing Leadership Council (ANLC) meetings with 48 members from across the system. • Nursing revised the orientation for advanced practice nurses (APNs) and created an APN residency program. • Thirty-five percent of clinical nurses are certified in their area of practice. • Sixty-five percent of clinical nurses hold a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) degree. • The AtlantiCare Emergency Management team successfully conducted two system-wide drills called “Gale Force Winds” in fall of 2017. • Security and Emergency Management leadership completed two ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) active shooter instructor training courses and now has more than 220 certified ALICE instructors. Upgrades to the Vocera communication tool at ARMC were also made. • Celebrated the 10-year anniversary of our self-insured and self-administered workers’ compensation program. We achieved reduction of 40 percent in injuries per 100 employees over this time.

• AtlantiCare launched installation of the first of two new linear accelerators to enhance radiation oncology services. • Neurosciences opened a second interventional radiology (IR) angiography suite to treat acute stroke patients requiring emergent and non-emergent endovascular neurological intervention. • Collaborated with diabetes educators and Health Engagement team to screen, educate, and treat bariatric surgery patients for diabetes. • The Musculoskeletal Center completed over 70 successful same-day joint surgeries in 2018. • ARMC participated in OperationWalk, and our patients were the first in New Jersey to benefit from this program. • Endovascular launched the first endoscopic ampullectomy, first axios stent, and first endoscopic fistula closure. • Internal medicine hospitalists expanded provider coverage with the addition of a nocturnist advanced practice nurse (APN) five nights a week. • HealthPlex Pharmacy began a mail-order service for infectious disease patients to increase the dispensing of HIV medications. • Pharmacy expanded the Anticoagulation Clinical for a total of two sites. • Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) exceeded actual volume of prior fiscal years by 74 percent. • The Emergency Satellite Department implemented observation patient status for 24-hour stays. • Enhanced the Cerner Healthe Intent enterprise data warehouse (EDW) pilot to include oncology bundle, access dashboard, and ACO reporting. • Go-live implementation of the clinical documentation and hardware installation to support the pediatric practice at the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). • Implemented the electronic health record and programmanagement software required for the Program for All-inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) LIFE Connection program. • Launched a medical-legal partnership at the HealthPlex, providing our patients at Mission Healthcare important legal services to address health-harming legal needs. • Launched several new programs aimed at attracting new donors to our organization. These include efforts to engage retirees, second homeowners, and individuals planning their estates, among others. • Fully deployed Instagram as new, additional social media platform for the organization. • Exceeded FY18 social media audience growth target (12.5 percent) by 120.9 percent across all platforms. Total growth was 133.4 percent (as of March 30, 2018). • Achieved substantially higher weekly engagement on Facebook over competitors. • Expanded participation in events by leveraging Facebook events for public registration and attendance. • The LifeCenter fully deployed the high-intensity interval training (HIIT) fitness program, which is the only non-fee-based program of its kind in southern New Jersey. Collaborated with Ornish Intensive Cardiac Rehab team to expand program days. • Offered free Zumba classes on the Atlantic City boardwalk to nearly 2,000 participants.
