In each of the 5Bs we have made great progress in our continuing effort to better serve our community. I appreciate each of your contributions toward achieving our goals. On the following pages, you will find many of our highlights from Fiscal Year 2019. Every innovation and accolade represents another step on our journey. Advancements • Achieved a record high AtlantiCare employee vaccination rate (96%) for seasonal influenza. • Outperformed Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services achievement threshold for clostridium difficile (c-diff ) infections for four straight quarters. • Improved stroke treatment times for mechanical thrombectomy (door-to revascularization) from 143 minutes (December 2018) to 83 minutes (February 2019). • Achieved 100% referral rate for potential organ donors. • Implemented multi-factor authentication, an additional layer of security when accessing the AtlantiCare network remotely. • Launched Sexual Assault Examination Center at the Mainland Campus Emergency Department. • Implemented Proven Recovery models of care for Bariatric, Hysterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) & Same Day Surgery for optimal patient care. • Implemented new polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for clostridium difficile (c-diff ), methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and flu / respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to improve turn-around times. • Decreased stroke readmission rate from 0.96 observed/expected in 1st quarter FY 2019 to 0.22 observed/expected in 2nd Quarter FY 2019. • Fully deployed diabetic retinal imaging to 500 patients, increasing annual eye screening compliance by 25%. • Partnered with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield to improve health of patients and reduce the cost of care through the work of a Population Health Pharmacist within AtlantiCare Health System. • Provided education to Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) staff on advanced care planning and the importance of completing advance directives and physician orders for life-sustaining treatment (POLST) in the long-term care population. • Advanced Illness Management decreased Intensive Care Unit length of stay post-palliative care consult from 5.46 days in FY 2018 to 2.19 days in FY 2019. • City campus Emergency Department exceeded goal in two quarters for wait time measure, “Care Complete to Depart Time” (Goal =< 140 min). • Center for Childbirth successfully launched Donor Breastmilk program, supporting exclusive breastfeeding through the use of donor breast milk for moms requiring supplementation. • Successfully launched Transition of Care Discharge Hotline at Mainland Campus. • Launched Physician Services SNFist Program at Royal Suites Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in May 2019 to reduce unnecessary ED visits.

• Initiated successful integration of Quality & Patient Safety leadership, best practices and standards to advance safe patient care and performance excellence across all Geisinger platforms (e.g. Geisinger added “Safety” as a core value). • Demonstrated cost avoidance of $2,775,000 through implementation of treatment protocols for Procalcitonin and Antibiotic Stewardship Program. • Collaborated with Health Engagement to further reduce Emergency Department Utilization with targeted “Right Care, Right Time” future model messaging to NJ Horizon Health members by redirecting these members to Urgent Care Centers or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in their own neighborhood. • Completed Anesthesia Pyxis expansion to improve drug storage, security and accessibility to include endoscopy, interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization lab. • Increased Thrombectomy volume by 113% to treat emergency stroke patients with large vessel occlusion through Rapid Processing of Perfusion and Diffusion (RAPID) software implementation and optimization of stroke triage algorithms. • Yielded a steady decrease in revisits from Medicaid patients through City Campus Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) pilot to help patients navigate the health care system. • Observed 20% of Clinical Effectiveness Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) teams (17 total) performing under target for variable cost reduction and/or length of stay versus national top performing peers. Highlights include: – Cardiac Surgery Valve Team – Three-day length of stay reduction and $48,000 savings; – Cardiac Procedure Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Team – One day length of stay reduction and $170,000 savings; – General Surgery Team – Reduced length of stay by 1.6 days; – Mom & Baby Team – Reduced 0.6 length of stay days and $337,000 compared to baseline. Healing Atlantic County • Expanded addiction services by enhancing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and open access while positively impacting the clinical service gap. • Trained over 260 clinicians and providers on addictions through three conferences held in FY 2019. • The Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (“OORP”) staff was recognized for their best practices in high engagement of those outreached into treatment and the highest number of follow-up phone contacts by the NJ Department of Health (“DOH”). • Launched NarxCare, which automatically queries the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and offers prescribers a list of prior controlled prescriptions as well as an abuse risk score. • Expanded recovery support services beyond the Emergency Department, reaching 800 individuals through recovery specialists and an additional 250 through community recovery events in the community. • Developed and implemented a non-opiate Pain Management option, Nitrous Oxide Protocol, for laboring obstetrics patients. • Decreased use of opioids by 14% across seven indications for Emergency Department patients through the use of evidence- based orders as alternatives to opioids. • Implemented six new protocols related to opioid use in the hospital, including medication assisted treatment and inpatient pain protocols. • Implemented three Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered medication take-back boxes to help remove unused and unwanted narcotics and other medications from the streets of Atlantic and Ocean counties.

Quality Education & Community Engagement • Provided 122,738 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to members of the Atlantic City community to enhance nutrition and address food insecurity. • Attended more than 120 community outreach events, providing 450 health screenings and educating 1,100 community members on wellness topics such as tobacco cessation, fall prevention, nutrition and physical activity. • Fostered partnerships through the LifeCenter with special populations that include: – Gilda’s Club (weekly aqua and yoga classes); – Cancer Care Institute Employee Yoga; – Monthly FACES for Autism program; – A Foundation grant to continue Real Life Choices / Adults with Special Needs program through the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, with a total of 37 participants receiving fitness services; – Expansion of Free Group Personal Training Classes; – Kids Yoga Program.

Best Customer Experience

Accomplishments • Achieved target goal of 80.1% for the AtlantiCare Customer Experience Index. • Achieved 75% target overall staff attendance at Starfish Lab Experience sessions. • Collaborated with Press Ganey to consolidate Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (“HCAHPS”) targeted survey. • Maintained top 90th percentile decile ranking by Press Ganey for Cancer Center. • Achieved top box over 90th percentile ranking for all AtlantiCare Surgery Center sites. • Outpatient Wound Centers in Hammonton and Egg Harbor Township achieved and maintained patient satisfaction scores of 98.4% and 94.1%, respectively. • Recognized by The Healthcare Planning and Marketing Society of New Jersey with the PeRCy Award for PR Relationship Building – Center for Childbirth. • Maintained top decile ranking for Mainland Campus 2 Meadow Surgical Unit.

Voice of the Customer • Launched patient welcome and discharge videos across all inpatient televisions. • Launched redesigned website at www.atlanticare.org. • Successfully reduced ARMC complaints and grievances by 28%. • Developed and implemented discharge lounge for patients at Mainland and City campuses to decrease wait times in the Emergency Department. • Increased number of bedside medication deliveries by more than 20% in Mainland Campus Retail Pharmacy to improve patient compliance and recovery. • Upgraded the Dragon® Voice to Text system for provider dictation to allow for remote dictation functionality. • Implemented new lab analyzer at the Cancer Care Institute in Egg Harbor Township to improve wait times and physician satisfaction. • Completed 162 requested optimizations in the Cerner electronic health record for providers. • Deployed Urgent Care and Physician Practice complaint process, improving overall patient satisfaction. • Opened a second anticoagulation clinic at the Mainland Campus, allowing for increased patient utilization. • Revised Galloway Obstetrics Practice by streamlining the telephone system and triage process in order to enhance the patient scheduling and communication experience. Community • Expanded our Grateful Patient fundraising program, engaging 55% more patient donors in FY 2019 than FY 2018, and aiding in patient health and healing through expressions of gratitude and philanthropy. • Completed installation of new 3D mammography units at the City and Mainland campuses for improved cancer detection. • Initialized mapping process to allow for reporting immunization to the NJ state registry for population health assessment and customer improvement actions. • Provided more than 100 prescriptions of insulin, test strips and other diabetic supplies to patients who couldn’t otherwise afford them through a donation by the Asian Pacific Employee Resource Group. • Placed automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) at St. Joseph’s in Sea Isle City; the Sea Isle City Veterans of Foreign Wars; Lower Township Chamber of Commerce; Somers Point Beach; and Somers Point Police (two vehicles). • Provided three underserved patients with a free joint replacement through the Operation Walk program with donated time by Drs. Fabio Orozco and Zachary Post.

Best Financial Performance

• AtlantiCare Health System will exceed its budgeted operating margin for fiscal year 2019. • Received $8.3 million, including a $1.7 million reward from the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP). • Raised over $850,000 through two signature Foundation fundraising events, The Century Club Gala and the Thomas L. Glenn, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, representing an increase of $65,000 from FY 2018. • Successfully contracted with Horizon NJ Health (Managed Medicaid) to accept its Medicaid members at all Urgent Care Centers. • Received over $3.5 million in Bundle Payments for the first nine months of the fiscal year. • Upgraded five financial systems related to contract management, data management, financial reporting and decision support. • Increased Energy Star Rating by 10%. • Advanced Illness Management achieved inpatient variable cost savings of $7.1 million year-to-date. • Received final approval of a $15 million grant and land transfer from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) toward our proposed $38 million medical arts facility on Ohio Avenue in Atlantic City. • Signed a five-year agreement in collaboration with Geisinger to build an integrated and innovative approach to improving quality and reducing supply costs with Medline Industries. • Kicked off the Optimus project, which replaces outdated billing technology with Epic Revenue System (EPIC) and streamlines the billing and collections practices on one uniform platform in sync with Geisinger. • Geisinger, including AtlantiCare, received the HealthCare Financial Management Association MAP award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle for the fifth time. • Finalized a Home Health and Hospice Joint Venture with LHC Group to enable us to continue those services in our community, particularly to the uninsured and underinsured populations. • Restructured our Oncology facility relationship (South Jersey Oncology Properties), which enables AtlantiCare to recognize savings on a go-forward basis. • Successful utilization management audits with Horizon Blue Cross, which enabled AtlantiCare to retain $2.5 million of revenue that was at risk. • AtlantiCare’s Legal and Risk Management successful defense of claims against AtlantiCare resulted in a more than $2 million reduction in malpractice costs. • Received approximately $1 million in shared savings payment from Horizon. • Received a $58,000 grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to provide mammography screening services for underinsured and uninsured women in our service area. • Renegotiated cost of Depuy implants for orthopedic procedures for a projected savings of $123,000 through clinical effectiveness.

• Fully deployed RAPID software (artificial intelligence technology to rapidly evaluate Computerize Tomography (CT) perfusion studies for endovascular neurosurgery candidacy). • The AtlantiCare Internal Medicine Physician Resident Outreach to Atlantic City Housing Authority for Seniors program was awarded a grant of $50,000 over two years by the Community Foundation of South Jersey’s Aging Innovation Fund to focus on community engagement and health. • Secured $368,000 in supplemental funding for various programs at the William L. Gormley AtlantiCare HealthPlex. • Achieved shared savings in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Oncology Care Model. • Received a $96,000 award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to better enable AtlantiCare to address the social determinant of housing by working in collaboration with other social service agencies in our community. • Maintained AtlantiCare’s self-insured workers’ compensation program, with no need to increase funding due to a combination of sustained loss reduction and a substantial increase in commercial market premiums. • Received $20,000 in funding from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) to pilot wellness text messages and mhealth technology tables to primary care patients at the William L. Gormley AtlantiCare HealthPlex. • Funded $55,200 in small grants to 62 local schools to support health and wellness actions. • Value-Based Programs: – Completed quality reporting for Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) and the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) which earned us an incentive payment of approximately $150,000, while avoiding a loss of $213,126.83; – Collected $310,000 in monthly enhanced oncology services payment and shared savings for Oncology Care Model during FY 2019. • Increased Personal Training Revenue at the LifeCenter by 4% versus prior year. • The LIFE Connection program exceeded gross revenue budget by $228,000 year-to-date as of February 2019.

Employee Development • Announced AtlantiCare’s first group of medical students from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, which we will welcome in July 2019. • Achieved approval from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) to implement a new Family Medicine Residency Program and a Psychiatry Resident Program (to begin in 2020). • Expanded day two of orientation for all AtlantiCare new hires to include Starfish Lab Experience participation. • Completed Lean Transformation training for approximately 277 leaders, using a two-part (White Belt) approach focused on Lean & Six Sigma concepts and a revised Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) tool. • Exceeded the nursing educational goal on 1 Pines, resulting in 85% of nurses either completing or enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. • Certified six new Lean & Six Sigma Green Belts representing nursing, AtlantiCare Physician Group, AtlantiCare Information Technology and Behavioral Health. • Collaborated with Mercer County Community College to support a 1+1 Med Tech Lab program to increase internal staff growth and to mitigate workforce shortages. • Conducted two Serving Leader cohorts. • Achieved 100% completion rate of Family Centered Care education by neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) registered nurse staff and providers. • Partnered with the Employee Assistance Program to expand wellness programming to include emotional health by educating 361 staff members on positive psychology, resiliency and happiness. • AtlantiCare’s School at Work (SAW) and Expanding Your Career in Healthcare Opportunities (ECHO) programs celebrated 17 graduates. • ARMC’s Residents shared 34 posters including 10 research findings at the seventh annual Resident’s Research Day in March 2019. Employee Engagement • Exceeded AtlantiCare Behavioral Health overall and employee engagement score goals and the National Norm scores in 2018. • Maternal Fetal Medicine improved its employee engagement score by 16% from prior year. • Donated over 120 pints of blood to the American Red Cross through employee blood drives held at the City and Mainland campuses in FY 2019. • Worked with local high schools to conduct job fairs (Atlantic City, Mainland Regional, Absegami and Egg Harbor Township). • Sponsored Healthcare Career Program at Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. • Continued efforts to build a culture of health by adding two indoor gardens, launching BALANCE (Building Active Lifestyles Around Nutrition, Community, and Exercise) Employee Resource Group, removing deep fryers from cafeterias and hosting two interactive teaching kitchens in collaboration with the Morrison team. • FitCare290 participants lost an average of 7.4 pounds in the program, with a single greatest amount of weight loss of 36 pounds in the three-month program.

Organizational Culture and Processes • Achieved 73% year-to-date employee donor retention rate, well exceeding national donor average retention rates of 45% and successfully expanding the commitment of our employees to the mission and vision of AtlantiCare through philanthropic gifts. • Designed and implemented AtlantiCare Family Commitments and launched internal campaign to support core behaviors integrating with Shining Stars program. • Achieved designation as a Leader in Healthcare Equality for the 8th year from the Human Rights Campaign. • Advanced Illness Management launched the #ISaidWhatIWant campaign, resulting in 149 nurses completing their own advance directives. • Increased Employee Resource Group membership by 38%. • Established the Diversity and Inclusion Fund under the Foundation. • PATHS (Peace, Acceptance, Trust, Healing, and Spirituality) Employee Resource Group prepared and donated over 200 prayer shawls to patients and their families. • Designed formal mentoring program for high potential employees to be implemented in September 2019. • Developed new AtlantiCare Affirmative Action Plans. • Re-hired 12 retired nurses under the Retired Nurses Program. • Celebrated record attendance at the annual 25 Year Club celebration. • Enhanced benefit offerings to include acupuncture, Henry® the mobile dentist and several voluntary benefit plans. Community Involvement • Joined several community partners for the BoardWALK for Recovery event which raised more than $10,000 to help those in recovery. • AtlantiCare Health Services held its 13th annual Candlelight Vigil event to mark National Homeless Persons’Memorial Day on December 21, 2018. • Hosted more than 500 people at the 12th Annual Community Health Fair & Picnic held on August 17, 2018, in Atlantic City. • Launched the Cleaner, Safer and Healthier Street Outreach Campaign in Atlantic City. • Implemented and presented “A Day in Life”with Stockton Health Sciences students. • Participated in the Atlantic City Workforce Development Committee. • AtlantiCare’s Heroes of Hair helped raise more than $20,000 for the No Shave November event in support of the AtlantiCare Treasure the Moment Fund, which assists cancer patients in our community. • Hosted the first Annual Earth Day Community event for more than 50 children and families at the Egg Harbor Township LifeCenter.

• More than 250 attendees participated in the 8th Annual Neuroscience Conference hosted by AtlantiCare on September 6-7, 2018. • Over 300 AtlantiCare employees on 41 Teams raised $50,000 participating in the American Heart Association’s 2019 Heart Walk on May 18, 2019. • ARMC hosted the 20th Annual Trauma Symposium fromMay 29-31, 2019, for more than 500 healthcare professionals from across the country. • The 100 participants of the AtlantiCare Starfish Cycling Team raised more than $20,000 for the 2019 American Cancer Society Bike-a-thon. External Recognition • Awarded a one-hour podium presentation slot at the 2019 Magnet Conference in Orlando, Fla., to present on Decreasing Stroke Readmissions through Post-Discharge Care Coordination. • Ninety five percent of our outpatient pharmacy technicians have received national certification for demonstrating competency in the work they do in the care of our patients. • Psychiatric Intervention Program (PIP) achieved 87% staff members who are Mental Health Screeners. • The 3 Harbor Progressive Care Unit (PCU) presented the published work, “Reinforcing Teamwork in a High Call Volume Step Down Unit: A Collaboration among the Night Float Residents, Hospitalists, Nurses,” at the 2019 American College of Physicians, New Jersey Chapter (ACPNJ) Scientific Meeting. • Highlighted PRIDE (Promoting Respect, Individuality, Diversity, and Equality) Employee Resource Group work as a best practice at Garden State Equality’s Annual Equity Conference.

Clinical Service Expansion • Added 97 providers to AtlantiCare Physician Group between July 2018 and June 2019, including in the following specialties: cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, surgical oncology, medical oncology, Gynecologic (GYN) oncology, endocrinology, rheumatology, psychiatry, Ear Nose &Throat (ENT) and primary care. • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) successfully directed 10 patients from Cape May County to the City Campus Comprehensive Stroke Center. • Yielded 114% growth in physician referrals between November 2018 and April 2019 as a result of new cardiac care marketing campaign. • Expansion of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) to improve Behavioral Health, Palliative Care and Rheumatology services. • Enrolled more than 450 patients at the pharmacist-managed anticoagulation clinic since program inception. • Performed over 80 pharmacist consults for the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program as part of the care of the frail elderly in our community. • Expanded cardiovascular capabilities at the Mainland Campus Heart & Vascular Institute. • Added Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Watchman Procedure, Loop Recorder insertions at the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Pacemaker Generator replacement. • Achieved a 45% increase in participation over last year for the Ornish Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. • Expanded Heart & Vascular Institute with 100% registered nurse compliance with completing the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) Advanced Education Modules for care of cardiac patients. • Increased access to perinatology services in all markets, adding a dietician to administer health & nutrition techniques to participants. • Expanded overall access to specialty services in the Manahawkin, Hammonton and Cape May markets. • Provided AtlantiCare Information Technology support to 22 AtlantiCare location acquisitions, moves and construction projects. • Increased Same Day Joint procedures between calendar year 2017 and 2018 by 159% (117 cases); Operating Rooms had their highest volume for January/February 2019 in AtlantiCare history, performing 217 Same Day Joint procedures. Community Engagement • Touched 183 additional families as a result of launching a summer meals Lunch & Learn series in Atlantic City during the summer of 2018. • Increased Pop-Up market numbers: – 6,910 community members have participated – 102,447 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables distributed

– 2,211 meals served through the 2018 Summer Lunch & Learn Series – 776 visits to the Pantry since October 2018, including 445 unique patients • Conducted 1,300 biometric screenings and 811 coaching sessions for local employer wellness clients.

• Launched chat function in December 2018 for AtlantiCare.org website through collaboration between Marketing & Access Center, which has driven 145 appointments (129 new patients) and 382 service/program referrals. Potential patient experience rated 4-5 star, or 91%. • Launched new Marketing campaign refresh to position the AtlantiCare brand as a leader in the marketplace. • Earned national and regional media coverage leveraging AtlantiCare experts to promote our brand as well as programs and services. Coverage appeared on National Public Radio, in USA Today and in The Philadelphia Inquirer. Innovation • Increased Telepsychiatry capability and utilization across AtlantiCare Behavioral Health Outpatient Services while exceeding volume goal. • Became the behavioral health telehealth provider for the NewYork End-Stage Renal Disease Seamless Care Organization (ESCO) on January 1, 2019, which establishes AtlantiCare Behavioral Health as an Advanced Alternative Payment Model under the Quality Payment Program. • Significantly increased access to specialty services via telemedicine in the areas of Endocrinology, Retinal Screening and Home Healthcare Services with new vendor InTouch Health. • Launched Livongo, an innovative online diabetes management program that includes a smart glucometer and access to real-time diabetes educators. Geographic Expansion • Acquired Urgent Care Center in Cape May. • Acquired Family Medicine Center practice in Manahawkin. • Expanded AtlantiCare’s Cape May Court House footprint, allowing for specialty care access in this market. • Improved access to Primary Care and Urgent Care services in Atlantic City by opening a practice site in the new Stockton University Atlantic City Campus. • Opened additional Urgent Care Center in Marlton.
