All users of AtlantiCare computerized systems have their own unique username and password which are not to be shared. Access to information is restricted to the minimum required for performance of job functions. Patient information cannot be released without proper authorization. Questions regarding release of information should be referred to Health Information Management Services. AtlantiCare has procedures in place to detect and guard against malicious software (anything that may harm our network and information, i.e. viruses, worms, spy ware, pornographic websites and SPAM). E-mail is the most common way of spreading viruses. Viruses often take the form of an e-mail attachment. You can report suspicious e-mail by calling the AIT Customer Service Help Desk at 569(3)-7070 Protected health information in any form must be disposed of according to established policies (de-identify or shred confidential documents, software, hardware, etc.). \ Management of Information Policies is available for your full review on the intranet. AtlantiCare's Notice of Privacy Practices also outlines patient's privacy rights and explains the proper use and disclosure of their information. AtlantiCare maintains compliance to all HIPAA standards as required by law. Use of Social Media Online social media enables individuals, including AtlantiCare employees, to share their insights, express their opinions and share information. Social media include all forms of online, or electronic, publishing and discussion, including blogs, wikis, file-sharing, user generated video and audio, virtual worlds and social networks. AtlantiCare employee use of social media activities, inside or outside of the workplace, has the potential to affect AtlantiCare employee job performance, the performance of others, AtlantiCare’s brand and/or reputation, and AtlantiCare’s business interests. As an AtlantiCare employee, we ask that you be mindful of your association with AtlantiCare, while participating in social media activities. See Social Media Policy #4313. Media Inquiries / AtlantiCare Publ icity All media inquiries related to AtlantiCare and/or our patients/customers must be approved by Public Relations. All AtlantiCare employees grant their permission to be in photographs, videos and other AtlantiCare publicity unless they specifically request to opt out. Bulletin Boards / Communication AtlantiCare may post notices concerning changes in policy, rules, regulations and other information pertinent to employees, on company bulletin boards and in the Human Resources Department. Employees have the responsibility of keeping informed of these changes by consulting the bulletin boards regularly. AtlantiCare may also post notices and/or email notices to employees through AtlantiCare systems.
