HR Team Member Handbook 2025
Telephones
The telephone is often the first contact the public has with our organization. Our customers form impressions and opinions based on our telephone manners. When answering the telephone you represent AtlantiCare. Answer the telephone pleasantly by the third ring, giving your name, department and ask “How may I help you?” If requested information is not readily available, suggest that you call back rather than keep the caller on hold. Return calls as soon as possible.
Business telephones should not be used for personal phone calls. Cell phones and text messaging is not allowed during working hours unless under emergency circumstances or on a break in appropriate areas.
Handling of Employee Concerns / Issue Resolution In any organization of our size, where people work as a team, misunderstandings and dissatisfactions may arise. An employee may have a complaint, feel they have been treated unfairly or disagree with certain policies or decisions. As an AtlantiCare employee, you have the opportunity to speak up about problems and misunderstandings. Our management is sincerely interested in hearing and settling a dissatisfaction relating to your job and employment. To ensure concerns receive prompt attention, first discuss the matter with your supervisor. If you feel the issue is inappropriate to discuss with your supervisor or the problem is not resolved by your supervisor, take the issue or concern to your Department Director. If you still feel the issue is unresolved, contact the Human Resources Department for assistance. See Policy #3940, Issue Resolution Process. If the issue involves discharge, contact the Human Resources Department. You may request a review of this decision. See Policy #3940, Issue Resolution Process and #3939, Issue Resolution Committee Process.
