Employee Recognition Awards Length of service milestones at AtlantiCare are recognized on the department and campus level and at the annual 25 Year Club event. Milestones designated are in five year intervals (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. years of service) and are calculated from the date of hire.

Parking

Free parking is provided to our employees (as spaces are available). Employees using the parking facilities do so at their own risk. Warnings up to loss of parking privileges will be issued to those individuals violating parking procedures.

Attendance All employees are expected to be able to perform their required job functions; work the scheduled hours of the position; and be at their assigned work areas at their scheduled start time. When it is necessary for you to be absent from work for any reason, you must notify your direct supervisor, department director, house supervisor, or other designee four (4) hours prior to the start of the shift with the specific reason and duration for the absence or lateness. If circumstances do not allow the four (4) hour notice, your manager has the authority to waive this requirement. Business units, follow your department notification process. AtlantiCare, our patients and your co-workers, expect you to be at work on time every shift you are scheduled to work. Unforeseen circumstances and planned time off are acceptable reasons not to be at work. For full and part-time staff, five or more events of absenteeism in any twelve month period is considered excessive. Progressive discipline will result in the event that absence and/or lateness is excessive. Please refer to Policy #501, Work Expectation, Paid Time Off and Leave Time. AtlantiCare reserves the right to request a doctor’s certificate for any absence. You are required to present a doctor’s note for any absence three (3) full days or longer to be paid 30 available sick time and to ensure fitness for duty. All doctor’s notes must state you have been under a physician’s care (no diagnosis, please) and are able to return to your normal duties of work with no restrictions. Employees absent from work due to illness such as a communicable disease, infection or exposure to same, may not be permitted to return to work until examined by the Occupational Medicine Physician and certified to be free of any condition that could endanger the health of patients or co-workers. Absences and lateness and No Call/No Shows will be monitored together; not separately. No Call/No Show - This is an absence where the employee has failed to contact his/her supervisor prior to the start of the shift and has failed to report to work within two (2) hours of his/her start time. The first No Call/No Show equals three (3) absences and a final warning. Depending on the number of previous absences/lateness in the past 12 months, this incident may result in termination.

Absenteeism - An event of absence is one (1) or more consecutive work days missed for the same reason or three (3) incidences of lateness. A rolling twelve (12) month time frame is used for the purposes of tracking attendance.
