AtlantiCare Owned Vehicles – Telematics
All vehicles owned by AtlantiCare are equipped with Telematics (tracking) devices that monitor vehicle mechanical/maintenance issues, driver behavior, and vehicle location. Use of these devices promote a safe working environment for our employees, while ensuring the health and safety of our patients, passengers, and community. Drivers of these vehicles must log in with their personally assigned device. Please refer to Fleet Vehicle Telematics Policy.
Mobile Device Usage
Business Mobile Devices Business mobile devices may be issued to employees or assigned to vehicles or departments based departmental and/or organizational need. Employees are responsible for security and physical care of corporate mobile devices issued or assigned to them as well as any charges related to use outside established guidelines including repair or replacement for physical damage due to negligence. Personal Mobile Devices Personal PDA’s and email enabled mobile devices will be allowed to connect to the AtlantiCare network and access corporate resources provided the devices adhere to corporate standards and security policies. Employees are permitted to use their personal mobile devices during work hours only in the event of pressing personal business or emergencies otherwise employees are not permitted to use their personal mobile phone while working. Employees may use their personal mobile devices during meal and break times. Use of personal mobile devices may not extend the length of designated break times. Calls or text messages may not be made or answered on personal mobile devices in patient care areas or any area that is in view of patients, family members, or visitors. Personal mobile devices must be kept on mute or turned off while working. Users should have no expectation of privacy associated with the information they store in or send through AtlantiCare network or corporate resources. See Mobile Device Policy #3923 Lockers Lockers are provided for certain departments. Employees must provide a lock and must leave the locker open upon termination of employment. AtlantiCare is not responsible for the contents of any locker. The locker is the property of AtlantiCare and we reserve the right to inspect it at any time. Failure to cooperate in a locker inspection will result in disciplinary action. See Policy #428, Lockers. Smoking As part of our commitment to Building Healthy Communities, smoking by patients, visitors, employees, physicians and contracted personnel is not permitted on AtlantiCare owned or leased buildings, grounds, parking lots or vehicles. Smoking Cessation programs may be available to employees at no cost. See Policy #3050 Smoking and Tobacco products.
