EXPLORERS A Medical Career Educational Program For Students

ARMC’s Explorer Program Our program exposes students to a variety of career opportunities in healthcare by allowing them to observe first-hand, the teamwork that takes place throughout ARMC. We encourage the growth of our future healthcare professionals by offering a supportive mentoring program, including guest speakers who talk about the education, life skills and leadership experience needed for a successful career in healthcare. Most importantly, the program is fun! What is Exploring? Exploring is part of Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 18 years old. Exploring’s purpose is to provide experiences that help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in their personal relationships and communities. Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between young people and the organizations in their communities. ARMC initiated an Explorer Post by matching our team members and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of activities to help students understand the wide variety of rewarding careers available in the healthcare profession. ARMC’s Explorer Program focuses on career opportunities in the medical profession. Participants will develop potential contacts that may broaden their employment options. The program will also boost students’ self-confidence and help them become more successful at school and work.

Young Adults Involved in ARMC’s Explorer Program Will: • Gain practical knowledge of and experience in medical careers • Engage in a program of activities centered on career opportunities, life skills, citizenship, character development and leadership experience • Take on leadership roles • Learn and grow in a supportive, caring and enjoyable environment
