One important update for 2026 is that all learning and development offerings will now be housed in Oracle Learning. This platform was selected intentionally to provide a more accessible, streamlined experience and to ensure our learning offerings continue to align with the skills needed for our future workforce. As we mark the third official year of AtlantiCare YOUniversity, it’s also an opportunity to reflect on the meaningful progress we made together in 2025: 11,754 learning experiences, reinforcing AtlantiCare’s commitment to continuous development 46 summer interns and co-op students gaining real-world experience 57 leadership and development courses offered 70 participants in formal mentoring programs 182 apprenticeship graduates launching new careers 1.6M+ in GAINS funding secured across FY 25-FY26 to expand and sustain high demand clinical talent programs

2025 Internships & Apprenticeships
2025 Internships A total of 67 students participated in our internship programs, including 32 in direct internships and 35 through Stockton Co Op’s Live, Work, Learn initiative. We were also awarded the NJ Career Accelerator Internship Grant in March 2025, further strengthening our investment in emerging talent. EMS Intern Program With over 89 applicants, this program launches in early June to introduce 16–18-year-olds to healthcare careers. Additionally, we are actively developing an EMT school to further expand training opportunities. Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Our Medical Assistant Apprenticeship continues to thrive, with 32 graduates in 2024 achieving an impressive 94% certification pass rate. With 57 MAs enrolled to date and upcoming cohorts in Summer 2025 and Winter 2026, we are preparing highly skilled medical professionals for the future. Medical Explorers Program Designed to spark interest in healthcare careers, this program engages 25–30 students each month in hands-on experiences across various medical fields, inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
2025 - 2026 Nursing Programs
Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Nurse Residency and Apprenticeship Program
Through our partnership with ENA, we launched New Jersey’s first ENA Nurse Residency Program in 2024, with 27 nurse residents completing their cohorts in 2025, we continue on into 2026 with a Emergency New Graduate Nurse first year retention rate of 90%. Vizient Nurse Residency Program With 110 new graduate nurses enrolled in 2025, this 12-month program has achieved an impressive 94.5% retention rate at the one-year mark. In early 2026, the program earned a global accreditation through ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP). Preceptor Development Program We have trained and certified 230 nurses and techs as official preceptors, reinforcing a strong culture of mentorship and professional growth.
Villanova Nurse Manager Certificate Program Cohort Thirty Nurse Leaders graduated in 2025, further strengthening leadership excellence within AtlantiCare.
Clinical Simulation Programs Our Simulation Program includes In-SItu Simulations, VR simulation, and high-fidelity simulation lab experiences. In 2025, we hosted 70 simulation events supporting 434 clinical team members enhancing confidence, skill application, and overall clinical preparedness.

Critical Care Foundations and Fellowship Programs Critical Care Fellowship is an 18-week program to transition nurses from medical-surgical into critical care roles, with two cohorts per year. Critical Care Foundations is a program offered to nurses hired into critical care areas that have no experience in the ICU, and helps to provide them with the foundation of critical care knowledge to be successful in their new role.
Workforce Development
2025 & 2026 High School Hiring Blitz This initiative successfully hired 49 students from AtlantiCare’s Teen Centers into key healthcare support roles, including PCT, Patient Access, Dietary, and Teacher Assistant positions. By providing early career opportunities, we are building the next generation of healthcare professionals. AtlantiCare/Cheyney University Nursing & Respiratory Program Through strategic academic partnerships, we celebrated the graduation of three Respiratory Therapists from the Thomas Jefferson Program and three Nurses from Stockton University’s Accelerated Nursing Program. These graduates represent the future of high-quality patient care. Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City Healthcare Cohort Our first-ever healthcare cohort launched with 10 students, offering career development, hands-on healthcare exposure, CPR certifications, and specialized training. This 12-week program equips young minds with the skills and knowledge to explore careers in healthcare.

For successful career development, you’ll want to follow some best practices: Improve your communication skills. Communication is crucial in the workplace. Consider taking classes or workshops to enhance your skills. Invest in your education. Stay current by taking classes, attending conferences, or pursuing a degree or certification. Be intentional. Set specific, achievable career goals, and be intentional about pursuing them. Take the initiative. Seek new opportunities and get involved in projects that interest you. Find the right mentor. Look for someone experienced in your field with the qualities you want to emulate. Explore what interests you. Experiment with different roles, industries, and projects to find what interests you. AtlantiCare YOUniversity offers a variety of in-person classes to enhance your knowledge and expand your leadership skills. Classes are offered in-person each quarter. Winter Semester continued
Medical Assistant Apprentice Program
No experience required to get a jumpstart on a career in the rapidly growing medical field! Medical Assistants (MAs) are essential team members in the healthcare setting. MAs make a lasting impact on patient experience and quality by performing a variety of direct patient care tasks, including: Collecting patient history & documents Taking vital signs Screenings, such as strep, finger stick glucose, EKGs & more Updating electronic health records Assisting the provider Administering medications
Earn While You Learn! AtlantiCare covers the cost of the training, certification and salary pay for apprentices’ clinical rotations.
MA apprentice students are paid $17.50 hr. for onsite time (about 20 hours/week) during the program.
Upon graduation and certification, rate goes up to $20.00 hr full-time with benefits.

Clinical Advancement Program (CAP)- Nursing The Clinical Advancement Program (CAP), formerly known as the Nurse Ladder Program, is a professional development pathway that recognizes and rewards nurses for their clinical expertise, leadership, and commitment to quality care. CAP supports career growth through defined levels of advancement based on experience, education, and contributions to practice improvement.
By encouraging continuous learning, mentorship, and active engagement, CAP empowers nurses to grow professionally while enhancing patient outcomes and strengthening the care team.

Radiologic Technologist Apprentice Program
Applicants must complete pre-requisites including admission/acceptance to an accredited Radiologic Technology or Radiography Program prior to applying for consideration. Radiologic Technologists perform Medical Imaging exams utilizing X-ray technology. Completing an accredited Radiologic Technology or Radiography Program provides a pathway to become board certified in Radiologic Technology.

Nurses are welcome to join the Emergency Nurse Residency Program (ENRP) Lecture Series to deepen their knowledge on a wide range of clinical topics. | NUR 106 - ENRP Lecture Series This course is designed specifically for Patient Care Technicians responsible for the safe transport of patients on telemetry monitoring. | NUR 107 - Telemetry Transport Tech Class This practical course is designed to develop and refine the skills necessary for safe and effective peripheral IV insertion and phlebotomy with both the butterfly and straight needle. | NUR 108 - Venipuncture / Phlebotomy & IV Insertion
This interactive 4.5-hour course is designed to enhance nurses’ knowledge and confidence in identifying and managing cardiac dysrhythmias.
| NUR 102 - Demystifying Comfort Measures Only (CMO) Care
This course equips nurses and allied health professionals with the skills to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care for patients in CMO and General Inpatient Hospice services. Earn 1 CE after completing the 1-hour activity, post-test, and evaluation.

Program Process
•Register for a Pursuit of an Advanced Nursing Degree information session via HealthStream. •These sessions are offered virtually on a monthly basis. •We discuss our academic partner schools, available program tracks, associated costs and partner discounts, and AtlantiCare's Education Investment Program (EIP).
Step 1
•Based on the school and program(s) you are considering, you will be set up for a relevant shadowing opportunity. •Shadowing is recommended for MSN tracks in Leadership, Education, or Inf ormatics. •Shadowing is required for APP programs.
Step 2
•Once your shadowing experience is complete, notify Missy and schedule a 1:1 meeting to discuss your final decision and rationale. •In that meeting, we will determine your eiligibility for EIP funding and outline the next steps to support your academic journey.

CLINICAL ESSENTIAL WORK REQUIREMENTS The Life Support Training Center is an American Heart Association Certified Training Center offering ACLS, BLS, PALS, and Heartsaver courses. We offer both LIVE classroom initial certification and re-certification as well as online Heartcode courses through HealthStream. BLS (Basic Life Support): Training focused on providing fundamental life-saving skills, including CPR, AED use, and relieving choking for adults, children, and infants. It is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): An advanced course for healthcare providers that covers the management of cardiac arrest, stroke, and other life-threatening emergencies. It includes pharmacology, airway management, and team-based resuscitation skills. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Specialized training for healthcare professionals who care for critically ill or injured children. It covers pediatric assessment, effective resuscitation, and the management of respiratory and cardiac emergencies. CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): A training program focused on crisis prevention and intervention. It teaches de-escalation techniques, non-violent physical intervention strategies, and how to safely manage disruptive or aggressive behavior.
Life Support Training Options Online Option: 1.Complete the course in HealthStream.
2.Submit the HealthStream form to LifeSupportTrainingCenter@AtlantiCare.org. 3.Register for a Skill Verification for AHA Online Courses session (in GREEN) using the calendar. 4.Finish the online portion before attending your scheduled in-person skill verification.
In-Person Option: Register for a traditional instructor-led class using the calendar. BLS → BLUE : “BLS Instructor-Led Traditional Class” ACLS → PINK: “ACLS Update – Instructor-Led Traditional Class” PALS → PURPLE : “PALS Update – Instructor-Led Traditional Class” Heartsaver → ORANGE : “Heartsaver First Aid”
ACLS or PALS Initial Courses: First-time participants are encouraged to take the full 2-day in-person course.
CPI Registration & Curriculum Access Registration: Complete the CPI Registration Form for new enrollment. For renewals, submit the form 45 days before your expiration date. 2026 CPI Curriculum Access: 1.Log into HealthStream → Go to "My To-Do List" on the Starfish page. 2.Complete the online portion to unlock the Step 2 live skills class for registration. 3.Self-register for a live skills class in HealthStream under "Event Calendar". 4.Receive your CPI Workbook from the instructor during the live skills class.

AtlantiCare Leadership Program
Description: The AtlantiCare Leadership Program is designed for highly engaged leaders and staff who have demonstrated a desire and ability to be considered for future leadership roles. Participants are selected. The program can last up to three years. Participants are provided with individual paths for years one, two, and three and placed into appropriate leadership development programs (i.e. Pathways to Leadership, Mentorship Program, LEAN Green Belt Training, etc.) during each year. Participants are expected to work on a Professional Growth Plan with a Career Sponsor. Who Should Attend? Model team members who exhibit a high inclination for leadership. How to Sign Up : Interested team members should talk with their leaders about recommending them for the Leadership Program by submitting information to the Learning & Development team. Description: The Pathways program is designed for front line team members with a high potential for taking on a leadership role. This one-year program focuses on the core knowledge and behaviors necessary to be a successful leader. Participants also work on a White Belt Project or Business Case Proposal to help drive transformation and innovation. The participant will be required to attend all sessions during the program year. Who Should Attend? Frontline team members who exhibit a high inclination for leadership. How to Sign Up: Participants are first identified for the STRIDES Program and then placed into the Pathways to Leadership program. Talk with your leader for a recommendation to the program. Description: Our “new leader orientation” program is designed to equip newly hired and newly promoted leaders with the knowledge, resources and understanding of what is expected of an AtlantiCare leader. All managers, directors and supervisors are required to participate in this program. Who Should Attend? This program is required for newly promoted leaders and leaders who are new to AtlantiCare. Information will be shared with new leaders when they start. Leaders should anticipate starting the in-person classwork within their first year. How to Sign Up: Participants will be contacted.
Requirements: Leaders with direct reports. Date Offered 2026: New sessions start quarterly Course Length: In-person class consisting of 4, 3 hour sessions.

This mentoring program offers a unique opportunity to grow both personally and professionally by building leadership skills, expanding your network, and contributing to a stronger organizational culture. Through collaborative learning, real-world insights, and ongoing peer support, participants will leave the program with enhanced communication abilities, leadership confidence, and valuable professional relationships. Mentoring Program Facilitator-Led Sessions: Expert-led sessions set the tone, establish expectations, and provide key insights on leadership, communication, and professional development. Rotating Peer Leadership: Participants take turns facilitating discussions, applying their leadership skills in a supportive environment while being guided by the facilitator. Interactive Learning Elements: Engaging activities include TED Talk discussions, YOUniversity classes, and collaborative networking opportunities.

The Community Enrichment Society of AtlantiCare (also known as “CES”) is an exciting networking opportunity for the area’s young professionals and entrepreneurs who would like to build relationships, develop professionally, enrich the community through philanthropy and volunteerism, and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
Target Demographic: The demographic to make-up CES would be: 25 years to 50 years old
Membership: AtlantiCare Employees: • $50.00 membership fee that our employees would have to pay when they sign up through cash/check/ payroll deduction The membership fee would be used for the following events: • 2 in person events- one event would be in the summer and the second event would be in December as a holiday party. (All in person events will have a cash bar) • 4 webinar/panel discussions throughout the year. • Volunteer events. • 1 “Day in the Life” experience: A Day in Life experience is where different departments allow a small group to come into their workspace for a couple of hours to see what they do on a daily basis.
